London Seafood Festival

London Seafood Festival arrives at Battersea Power Station this summer, offering an array of events including oyster shucking classes, chef collaborations and a selection of different pop-ups suitable for all the family.

The five day-long festival will be taking place on the banks of the River Thames at Circus West Village, the first chapter in the regeneration of Battersea Power Station, which is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new food and drink destinations in London. 

Restaurants will be taking part and offering special menus, chef collaborations, ticketed dinners and seafood masterclasses from some of the leading seafood specialists in London throughout the festival, which takes place from Wednesday 20th to Sunday 24th June.

From brass bands to Bollywood - Sunderland welcomes the tall ships

A RAFT of live music – from brass bands to Bollywood - has been unveiled as part of The Tall Ships Races Sunderland 2018.

Up to 1.5m people are expected to head to Sunderland from 11 to 14 July for the four-day festival, featuring 55 sailing ships from around the world.

And, along with spectacular circus acts – including a high wire crossing of the River Wear – orchestras, bands, choirs and dance companies have also been signed up to take part.

Homegrown band The Lake Poets, Sunderland Symphony Orchestra and the Young Asian Voices choir will be joined by more than 40 schools, 500 children, five brass bands and 12 choirs in a packed programme showcasing local, national and international talent.

One of the North East’s leading music festivals, Summer Streets festival, has unveiled its biggest line up yet as it joins forces with the Tall Ships Races Sunderland 2018.

As start host port for the international sailing event, the city will welcome 55 sailing vessels and their crews along with an estimated 1.5m visitors, for four days of theatre, circus, music and dance, from 11 to 14 July.

And Summer Streets – a free annual festival founded five years ago by The Futureheads guitarist and vocalist Ross Millard – is moving from its usual Southwick home to Seaburn Recreation Park to be part of the event.

On Saturday 14 July, stars such as Little Comets and the world famous Royal Northern Sinfonia will be among a packed line up performing across three stages.

Caerphilly Food Festival is set to once again delight visitors when it returns to the town on Saturday 12th May.

Thousands are expected to descend on Caerphilly town centre – just a ten-mile hop from the capital city of Cardiff – as it plays host to 100 stall holders who will tempt taste buds with delicious aromas, sizzling sounds and mouth-watering produce. 

The streets will be transformed into a marketplace between 9am and 5pm bursting with culinary delights complemented by craft and activity stalls and the ever popular farmers market. 

The event promises to be a fun day out for the whole family with activities planned throughout the day including face painting, donkey rides, a children’s fun fair and street entertainers.

The Brewery Quarter Set For Jazz Festival Take Over with Around Town Event

The Brewery Quarter is preparing for the return of the prestigious Cheltenham Jazz Festival and its fantastic Around Town events.

Returning to the Quarter for the third year on Sunday 6 May, the Around Town Jazz Festival Event provides a flavour of the main event but without the ticket price, with six amazing free acts taking to the stage throughout the course of the day. 

Starting from 1pm, enjoy live music and dancing until 7pm on the Bank Holiday Sunday. 

1pm – 1.45pm - Gypsy Jazz band, Pixie and the Gypsies will be performing unique covers featuring vocals, violin, double bass and guitar. 

From 2.15 – 3pm Soular Funk will be performing some of the very best funk, soul and disco classics from the 1970s to present day.
