Colston Hall Closing Weekend

On Friday 8th June there will be a concert to commemorate the closing of the hall, followed by a weekend of events.

June 2018 sees the return of Torbay Airshow!  Look to the skies of Torbay to see some of the most iconic historic and modern aircraft such as the RAF Typhoon Display Team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the first display of the year from the awe-inspiring Red Arrows. Joining this spectacular military display line-up are some of the finest civilian display teams in the country such as the Breitling Wing Walkers & The Blades.

Weston Super Mare Seafront and Beach Lawns

The 2018 Weston Air Festival takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June on the Weston-super-Mare Seafront and Beach Lawns in Weston-super-Mare. This family friendly event will feature a mix of awe inspiring armed forces and civilian aerobatic displays.

Grillstock returns to The Amphitheatre in 2018 for another hefty dose of meat, music and mayhem. The much loved BBQ bonanza has become a huge part of Bristol’s festival scene ever since its fires were first lit back in 2012.  This year the legends that are Black Grape and the Fun Lovin’ Criminals will take the headline slots over the weekend. Jam packed with live music, brisket, wings, burnt ends and everyone’s favourite chilli eating contest, as always Grillstock promised to be weekend filled with great food, great music and great vibes.

Journey to the heart of American music with a world-class line-up of blues, gospel, country and bluegrass from across the pond, and closer to home. This time, River Town is grabbing its Stetson and going out on the road, taking the sounds of the south into some of Bristol’s finest music venues. Expect performances from Lukas Nelson, Turnpike Troubadours, Rosanne Cash, The Barr Brothers, Jade Bird, Holly Macve, Emily Barker, The Grahams, Jess and the Bandits, Steve  Earle and Graham Nash, plus many more still to be announced.

St Pauls Carnival returns in 2018 marking a historic 50 years since the very first carnival. Throughout Saturday 7thJuly, St Pauls will be filled with music and colour as the soundsystems, parades and more return to the streets. This iconic Bristol event represents the best of African Caribbean culture, as well as the diversity, creativity and vibrancy of its home city.

Bristol Harbour Festival is one of the country's largest FREE festivals, with over 200,000 people attending each year. It features three miles of entertainment along Bristol's iconic harbour, including a Dance Village, three music stages, boating entertainment on the water, unusual vessels, a children's and circus mecca created by Cirque Bijou and regional food markets.

Europe’s largest live urban art festival, Upfest returns to Bristol in July celebrating the event’s 10th anniversary. With over 300 of the most cutting edge and diverse street artists expected into the city to paint buildings, surfaces and canvasses live in the streets. This annual festival attracts more than 30,000 visitors from all over the world.

BBC Countryfile Live returns to the spectacular grounds of Blenheim Palace for a third consecutive year.  The four-day family friendly event promises to be the biggest and best instalment yet, with upwards of 30 stages, venues and areas ranging from Family Fishing in the River Glyme to the Equine Area, BBC Introducing Stage, Wildlife Zone and even a Mercedes Off-Road Driving Experience, there’s certainly something for everyone at BBC Countryfile Live.

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta will return to Ashton Court Estate next summer to celebrate the iconic event’s 40th anniversary.Taking place from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th August 2018, the spectacular free event will once again feature over 100 hot air balloons taking off at dawn and dusk as well as the famous Night Glows, when the balloons light up the sky in time to music.

The Downs Festival returns in 2018 with quite possibly its biggest line-up to date! Headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds the Downs Bristol also features the ModFather himself Paul Weller, EDM icons Orbital, Goldie and the Heritage Orchestra and Basement Jaxx.  Local heroes The Heavy also feature as to Houston Trio Khruangbin, Nadine Shah and Dream Wife.

Blackheath

London’s big end-of-summer party, ONBlackheath, will return to the capital once again on September 8th and 9th. The huge two-day music and food event will take place on the beautiful green spaces of Blackheath, close to Greenwich, with another stellar music line-up at its heart.

South London’s own living legends Squeeze will headline Saturday, with Platinum-selling British artist and fellow Londoner Paloma Faith top of the bill for Sunday. Billy Bragg, The Divine Comedy, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lightning Seeds, De La Soul, Craig Charles Funk and Soul and Huey Morgan are just some of the acts announced in the first round of confirmed artists.
