With 5 Great Taste Awards for our flour, Gold World Bread Awards for our bread, and 5* ratings on Trip Advisor and Facebook, there are lots of ways to enjoy a visit to the Mill.

Highlights for a Visit:

Take a tour – learn about the history of the mill, its place in the local community and the story of its restoration. Our volunteer guides and millers are on hand to answer questions and guide you round the mill. For a more in depth and hands on experience, call us to book a 1.5 hour “Taste of Milling” session where you will help with all parts of the milling process – from engaging the wheel and opening the leat to starting the stones and milling some flour.

Enjoy great food – The Bakers’ Table café and bakery creates fantastic food from local produce. Fresh bread is baked on site Tuesday – Saturday.

Bake your own bread – with 9 different types of flour to choose from and 6 bread kits (containing everything you need to make a tasty loaf), you can buy all of our products on site and take them home to See Water Power in Action!make wonderful breads, cakes, pastries, scones and biscuits.

Learn new skills – regular craft workshops including felting, starting a rag-rug, and upcycled summer crafts offer an opportunity to create bespoke, beautiful items in a relaxed and informative class, with lunch and refreshments provided.

Hands on fun for children – our tours offer lots of opportunity for children to see how the mill works and learn how wheat is turned into flour. During school holidays we run a regular drop in craft “Workshop Wednesday”.

Enjoy the gardens – walk along the side of the leat and the river, relax and take a seat by some of the local sculptures on display, and catch a glimpse of some of the wonderful wildlife along the waterways – dippers and otters have been spotted!
