Enjoy magical waterway days with the Canal & River Trust's free summer guide

Tell the time with a dandelion clock, watch the dabble of ducks and dazzle of damselflies or count the spots on a ladybird. Make some time for the great outdoors this summer with the help of the Canal & River Trust's free, family-friendly activity book. Full of fun, inspirational activities the guide will ensure your family heads outside and has a real summer of adventure.

Make your own leaf boat, cook up some healthy duck food, create a canal collage, make your own binoculars and go on a waterway wildlife spot. The guide has 20 different activities, both for rainy and sunny days, to enjoy.

For younger family members there's a special edition of the guide with some magical wand-making activities and stickers courtesy of Entertainment One's children's TV series - Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom. Packed with great, easy ideas to encourage families to make the most of their local canal or river the guide should bring a little bit of Ben & Holly fairy dust to make your summer sparkle! Annette Simpson, Education Manager at the Canal & River Trust, said "We're encouraging families to turn off technology and instead turn on to the towpath. Passing on your childhood experiences and nature knowledge is a great way of spending time together. Our summer guide is a great way to get you started and before you know it you'll be making memories that will last your children and grandchildren a lifetime."
