From meeting Santa in his Grotto to hopping aboard the Christmas Land Train to embarking on the Nutcracker Trail, there is plenty going on in the city of Plymouth this festive season. Christmas shoppers looking for special gifts will be spoilt for choice at the city’s annual Christmas market and Drake’s Circus shopping centre with a range of activities and events taking place across the city to get them into the festive spirit!

For the last number of years Isle of Man Railways has welcomed the start of the new operating season by hosting its “Rush Hour” event over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. As the name readily implies, enhanced timetables are operated on each of the Island’s unique transport systems: the Isle of Man Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway, Douglas Horse Tramway and vintage buses as well as the Island’s volunteer operated railways.  Focusing on intensity of service, Rush Hour is a visual celebration of “movement” and of the diverse and unique railway heritage of the Island.

Surf Snowdonia doubles visitor projections in first full year of operation

Adventure Parc extends its 2016 surf season in response to customer demand Figures released today show that in its first full season Surf Snowdonia has welcomed more than double the number of visitors it had originally forecast.

The world-first inland surf lagoon in North Wales – which opened to global media interest in August 2015 and has since won a whole clutch of plaudits and endorsements – has welcomed more than 150,000 people through its doors since its first full season started in March 2016. Surf Snowdonia’s business plan was built around a projection of just 70,000 visitors per operational year.

Good vibrations expected for Conwy Valley’s first ever surf-side Christmas Market

A real ale tent complete with fire pit, a surf-side Santa’s grotto, some brilliant live music and stacks of local producers will be among the features of a unique Christmas market coming to Surf Snowdonia in December.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Conwy Valley’s forests and mountains – and on the shores of their world-first inland surf lagoon – the Surf Snowdonia Christmas Market will take place over the weekend of the 10-11 December, exactly two weeks before Christmas.

The Dyffryn Conwy Surf Club will offer inclusive and affordable surfing to local youngsters

Surf Snowdonia is launching what will be a world-first community surf club in the heart of the Conwy Valley this weekend.

The Dyffryn Conwy Surf Club – Clwb Syrffio Dyffryn Conwy – will offer low-cost surf lessons to young people living in the Conwy Valley area. It will be the first surf club on the planet to be based inland - eight miles from the coast at Surf Snowdonia’s world-first inland surf lagoon in Dolgarrog.

Now in its fourth year, this hugely popular event, at Lancaster Leisure Park, is back.  Taking place between 3pm and 9pm on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th November, this year our exhibitors will be housed in a huge indoor marquee to keep you warm and dry, whilst you browse stalls packed full of crafts, gifts and goodies to add to your present list.


Big air at Ayrshire’s castle in the sky

One of the UK’s top BMX demo teams is dropping in to the National Trust for Scotland’s Culzean Castle and Country Park on Sunday 18 September as part of a celebration of pedal power.

The 3SIXTY bicycle stunt team will be amongst the attractions at the historic estate’s first ever cycling festival. They’ll be performing amazing tricks in the beautiful grounds of Culzean Castle.

Bikes, trikes and unicycles are all welcome at the event which is intended to encourage visitors to discover a new dimension to the historic Ayrshire estate’s heritage. Visitors can pick up a map and get going on their own adventure, or head out on a guided Cycle Safari using fabulous electric bikes supplied by 'The Hub'.
