By Hammer and Hand, running from June 30 to September 30 at Perth Museum and Art Gallery, is free and brings to life the people who formed the backbone of Perth's economy. The exhibition draws on archives, artwork and significant objects which bring their history and importance to life.

The owner of stunning Lake District Arts & Craft-style hotel Nanny Brow is celebrating after being shortlisted as a finalist in the Outstanding Woman category of the 2018 E3 Business Awards.  

Sue Robinson took part in a final interview with the panel of judges on May 9 and all were impressed by Sue’s extraordinary journey’  The ‘big reveal’ will take place in July at the Macron Stadium in Bolton, where 80 finalists will compete across 16 categories.

Sue has faced many challenges whilst breathing new life back into the five-star Nanny Brow.  ‘Discovering’ it in 2009, there were so many reasons to walk away.  Empty for seven years, the building was a wreck with no running water or electricity, but Sue had fallen in love.

The RHS Flower Show Cardiff in April will feature eco-friendly Regeneration Gardens, which champion reusable materials, and is set to inspire with its Wales’ Year of the Sea theme.

The annually anticipated floral spectacular – partnered by wealth manager Brewin Dolphin – will highlight the sensational Welsh coastline with a host of themed gardens and related features and activities to spark the imagination as 60 nurseries from all over the UK come together in Floral Marquee and Plant Village.

As the UK’s leading gardening charity, the RHS has revealed an exciting line-up, bringing vibrant Show Gardens, floral displays, interactive activities and the brand new Regeneration Gardens to the grounds of the stunning Bute Park from 13 to 15 April.

Tourism boost expected from leading LGBT festival

Newcastle Pride and Mercure Newcastle County Hotel mark Nichols and Anna Wadcock

A popular event, which annually attracts up to 70,000 people, is expected to boost the North East’s tourism trade when it returns next month. Newcastle Pride, one of the largest free LGBT festivals in the UK, generated around 8000 bed nights in 2015, with up to 14 per cent of visitors opting to stay overnight.

This year, accommodation providers across the city are gearing up for an even bigger influx of guests, with many focussing their efforts on the event’s main music weekend beginning Friday July 15.

On Wednesday 16th March 2016, as part of the Worldwide Hydration and Nutrition Week 2016, the Travel and Tourism students in conjunction with The National Association of Care Caterers are preparing to stage Jersey’s Biggest Afternoon Tea Party Ever for over 55s across multiple venues in the island.

Currently, in the initial stages of planning, the students are encouraging local care and residential homes to participate and stage their own afternoon tea party, in order to help break the current Guinness World Record!
