With the school holidays and summer on the horizon, you may be wondering what to do with the children. The good news is that you don’t need to travel far this half-term holiday to find seaside fun in rural Derbyshire.
Crich Tramway Village, near Matlock, is hosting a Beside the Seaside event from Saturday 27th May to Sunday 4th June.
The Village will be transformed into a family themed seaside resort with a beach area, deck chairs and buckets and spades.
There will be a fun-fair featuring steam gallopers and Gavioli organ and visitors will get the chance to see Punch and Judy and play bingo.
As well as good old fashioned seaside fun, there will be face painting, a flea circus, magician, juggler and brass band playing on selected dates.
Event Co-ordinator, Rachael Fisher said: “Beside the Seaside has proved very popular for the last three years, so it’s back by popular demand. It means that people living in central England don’t have to travel to the coast to enjoy family fun with a seaside theme. We hope to have the open top trams running if the weather is good, and people can take as many tram rides as they wish.”
The great news is that once you purchase a full price ticket, you can return to Crich Tramway Village as many times as you wish within 12 months (excluding the 1940s events).
