Who's Going Where For Christmas?

As families embark on the annual arrangements for who goes where for Christmas, a North West hospitality group is offering festive getaways perfect for those who find themselves facing a quieter time this year.

James' Places marketing manager Heidi Kettle explained: "It's a perennial issue, especially when there are young grandchildren - which grandparents to go to, host at home and invite both sets, but how about more extended families or when multiple grandparents are involved? We've got just the thing for couples who may find themselves on a family ‘bye' this year."

The group's Falcon Manor Hotel, at Settle in the Yorkshire Dales, Shireburn Arms at Hurst Green in the Ribble Valley, and The Royal Hotel at Kirkby Lonsdale, on the cusp of Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire have just launched their Christmas brochure, with festive getaways to suit all ages.

Said Heidi: "Whether it's for Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day or for the days between Christmas and New Year, a treat in a lovely hotel is a great way to recharge the batteries and enjoy the season of goodwill, without having to wash up!"

According to travel industry association, ABTA, 4.5million Brits went away for Christmas last year.Who's Going Where For Christmas?

The festive packages feature three nights from December 24 to 26, including Christmas dinner. The Royal Hotel also offers two and three night dinner, bed and breakfast deals covering the period between Christmas and New Year.

Heidi added: "Couples with grown up families can find themselves almost at a loose end for Christmas if their children and grandchildren are going to other family. Most of us tend to take it in turns but we can often feel guilty about not seeing our own parents for the big festive meal and those who are not hosting can feel a bit left out.

"Going away is a win all round. It transforms a quiet year into a big treat, helping everyone feel better."

James' Places is a group of hotels, inns, interior design and hospitality businesses across the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales and South Lakes, all different yet sharing the same service values and ethos.
