Dog friendly Daisy Meadows offers glamping and doggy day care in Devon

Dog lovers are aware that dogs aren’t always welcome on family holidays, but Daisy Meadows Glamping in Devon is different, welcoming dogs as special guests with its Happy Hounds Doggy Day Crèche.

Tina Walters, who has run Daisy Meadows since 2013, is a dog lover who knows how difficult it can be for dog owners to get away on a break. That’s why she set up her doggy day crèche at Daisy Meadows, a safari tent glamping site near the Blackdown Hill’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Devon.

Situated in 2.5 acres of grounds just 2 minutes from junction 27 M5. The area is often called “The Gateway to Devon” and Daisy Meadow’s luxury safari Dog friendly Daisy Meadows offers glamping and doggy day care in Devontent site is all about getting back to nature, surrounded by flowers, wildlife and nature.

Daisy Meadows is a family business and Tina fell in love with safari tents whilst on her own expedition. She says: “We love the outdoors, taking our dog with us and al fresco eating, with a little bit of luxury.

‘We created Daisy Meadows as just the right mix for guests, particularly those who have dogs. We can provide a doggy day crèche so that you can still bring your dog on holiday. We realise that sometimes you might want to spend the day shopping or go to a show and still come back at the end of the day to your happy hound.

‘Last year, 80% of our guests brought their dogs with them during the summer break and they are always cared for as if they are our own. On site, dogs are free to roam in the meadow, but we always ask guests to check with their neighbours, and pick up their dog’s poo and pop it in the bins provided, of course!’

A great base to explore areas of outstanding natural beauty, Daisy Meadows is a doggy-walking paradise. Guests can set off in a different direction every day and be at a beach or place of interest within minutes.

Daisy Meadows is all about making your holiday easy. Tina says: ‘We can cook you an evening meal and leave it in your fridge to pop into your stove when you arrive back at your safari tent. We also supply local sausages, bacon and our own eggs for breakfast.’

Tina also runs the Gardeners Rest Tea Room, which sells eggs from Daisy Meadow’s own hens, as well as homemade cake and tea and coffee. If that’s not enough, Tina can arrange for fresh bread to be delivered daily and can supply a picnic hamper or fruit /vegetable basket.
