Family Activities Under £20 In Manchester This Summer

Fun and adrenaline-filled days out for all the family at Chill Factore

Finding a day out which can satisfy all family members can be tricky at times. This summer the Manchester visitor attraction, Chill Factore, has launched a series of activities for under £20 per person to keep the family entertained.

From snowboarding and skiing for all abilities, to extreme snow fun activities and interactive adventure on real snow, you can keep the family entertained with a day out which does not break the bank.

The faster you slide, the higher you go at Altitude! 

£12.50 pp for 1 hour 30-minute session (including 45-minutes activity on the snow, and 45-minutes to get kitted up as well as listening in on the team brief and debrief)

Launched in May 2018, Altitude takes the adventure playground on real snow to the next level. The new interactive snow challenge will offers guests the chance to team up with other exhilaration seekers Family Activities Under £20 In Manchester This Summerand take on the challenge of accumulating as many slope metres as possible to ‘Reach the Peaks’.

The competition is on as teams go head-to-head in the ultimate adrenaline rush to get as many runs in as possible during the game. Each ride down the Downhill Donuts, Luge Slip’n’Slide and Sledge-O-Mania will earn your team those all-important metres and every metre will move your team further up the mountain peaks score board: the faster you slide, the higher you climb.

Thrill seekers who have accomplished Altitude can check where their score is placed on ‘Highest Climber’ leader boards, published on the Chill Factore website.

Beginners learn for the first time with ski and snowboard tasters

£19 per junior/adult for 50-minute session

Minimum age: 8 for snowboarding, 6 for skiing (under 10’s must be accompanied by a participating adult)

From now up until 31st August 2018 beginners of all ages can find their snow legs with three fun taster sessions available on the beginner slope. Tuition is provided for all ages, including mixed groups whereby adults and children can learn to ski or snowboard together; ‘Just for Juniors’ ski taster for age 6-10 only and ‘Just for Infants’ ski taster for 4-6 years only.

Never stood on a pair of skis or a snowboard before? Fun tasters at Chill Factore will give you a feel for the thrill of snowsports, while introducing you to the slopes, the equipment and some sliding techniques.

Go Airboarding to body-board on real snow!

£17 junior and £18 adult for 45-minute session

Minimum age: 8

Do you feel the need for speed? For £17 juniors can race downhill on a specially designed air inflated board and adults can join in this thrilling extreme snow activity for £18 per person. All the family can zoom down the beginner’s slope with a family of four group pass for £68.

Enjoy the main slope with lift passes

£15 per junior/adult for 1-hour session. Double your time for an extra £5 (Monday-Friday)

Minimum age is not applicable, but guests must meet main slope standard (and under 10’s are required to be accompanied by a participating adult)

Up until 2nd September 2018 those who are at main slope standard can enjoy skiing or snowboarding at their leisure. Whether you’re revisiting snowsports, improving your skills following lessons or wanting to keep active, you can make the most of the spacious runs ahead of peak season.

Toddlers can explore Mini Moose Land

£10 for family of 2 for 1-hour session

Tiny tots under 4 can experience snow for the first time, making their way through Moose Hoose – designed for sensory play and includes musical instruments, textures, lights and more. Not to forget the soft play, tunnels and igloos for little ones to explore.

Take on the Rock Climbing Wall

‘Rapid Rescue Mission’ is £5 and 1-hour Rescue Mission is £12 for junior and £14 adult. Family of 4 pass £44.

Minimum age: 5

Mini Moose is stuck at the top of the mountain – can you rescue him? Make your choice on which route you would like to climb, as each mountain is 12 metres high and varies in difficulty level. See if you can make the speed leader board with one climb included in ‘Rapid Rescue Mission’ or test your climbing skills across the one-hour ‘Rescue Mission’.

‘Summer at Chill’ returns this August

Beyond, home of Chill Factore, is hosting a calendar of free and paid-for activities this August. Returning for the second year ‘Summer at Chill’ will provide a range of events for different ages. Set to be bigger and better than last year, new features will include the inflatable obstacle course ‘The Monster’.
