Fed up of camping? It’s time to get glamping!

A glamper will never look back once their head has been turned by a spot of glamorous camping! It’s the perfect solution for those of us who delight in the outdoors but can’t face sleeping on a cold hard mat - not to mention that dreaded trudge to the shower block in the morning…
You can pack up your rucksack and get close to nature once more now that endless options for ‘glamorous camping’ have come to the fore.
From eco pods and yurts to tipis and shepherds huts, there are so many ways to make your glamping experience a special one.

Wherever you live in the country, there are glampsites to suit all tastes and requirements. Many are situated on working farms too, making them perfect for families with young children who will love to give a helping hand.
From feeding horses to collecting eggs, there are many sites which encourage children to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, creating a memorable introduction to country life!
In fact, glamping offers just about everything you’ll need to make your children happy on holiday.
Despite little ones loving the excitement of camping - not least the idea of all the family hunkering down under one fabric roof - they do tire of it eventually. That’s where glamping steps in. The children are still very close to nature and they still get to sleep in a ‘den’. It’s just slightly more luxurious than dad’s trusty old tent, not least if there’s a stove and a roll top bath thrown in for good measure…

Having all your home comforts to hand also means it’s a great way to introduce your brood to holidaying in the outdoors and all it has to offer. Plus any sign of rain won’t mean you’re shoehorned into a soggy tent with those inevitable muddy footprints.
There’s also a good chance that your glampsite will be roomy and less populated than a regular campsite, where tents can often be pitched a little too close for comfort. Sites are usually enclosed areas too.

This means children have plenty of space to play and explore within a safe boundary, where they’ll feel adventurous yet within easy reach of mum and dad.
Families aside, romantics are lovers of glamping too. Take gypsy wagons, tree houses or cosy shepherd’s huts in picturesque surroundings. There are many couples only glampsites which are peaceful and spacious, giving the impression that you are miles away from anywhere. Perfect for a whirlwind weekend getaway.
Most glamping accommodation combines the traditional aesthetic with modern comfort and convenience.
The more robust options include wooden eco pods and cabins. You will invariably find wood burners and fine furnishings inside while the more luxury pods may have a hot tub on the doorstep to boot. Tipis, bell tents and yurts are amongst the most elaborate and eclectic places to stay when it comes to glamping. Their open structure enables a spacious living and sleeping area while the decor can be both extravagant and snug. Some contain kitchens and a log burner too. From rustic romance to bold bohemia, they are wonderfully luxurious while ensuring an authentic camping experience.

There is no end to the design and innovation of glamping accommodation available, especially since treehouses and geodesic domes made an appearance. One thing that will never change however are the amazing locations such accommodation enables you to enjoy - tucked away by rivers, in wildflower meadows or perched on the coast to name but three.
There’s a good chance your site will be set within stunning countryside, enabling you to explore your surroundings on foot or by bike. Enjoy nature walks and stunning scenery before returning to your luxury pod and taking a dip in the hot tub perhaps...
When it comes to pods and huts it means you don’t have to limit your camping trips to the summer months either. After a bracing day in the outdoors, you can shut out the elements, batten down the hatches and get cosy by the roaring log burner.
If you are looking for cosy camping accommodation which rivals that of a boutique hotel, then glamping is for you. Enjoy the perfect family holiday or quiet romantic getaway within unique and memorable surroundings.
