Heath Week 2017

The 21st annual East Devon Pebblebed Heath Week will take place on 23-29 July 2017; a celebration of the beautiful heathland landscape of East Devon. Whether you enjoy wildlife, history or getting active in the outdoors, there is something here for you!

Join a week of activities, events and walks where you can learn more about the wildlife, history and conservation work that makes these heathlands so unusual, with something for all the family. 

Family Festival Day kicks off the event on 23 July, with a range of activities for all ages, including walks, talks, crafts and quizzes, celebrating all the heaths have to offer. Entry is just £5 per family group.

Throughout the rest of the week, there are even more events and activities to suit all the family, from pond dipping and storytelling to mountain biking across the heathland landscape. 

heath weekWhy not begin the celebrations with Tai Chi on the Heaths, on 23 July? Booking is required for this unique Tai Chi experience which will introduce you to the art whilst taking in the stunning surroundings.

For those wanting to find out more about the Heaths, Head of Wildlife and Conservation at Clinton Devon Estates, Dr Sam Bridgewater will be holding a talk on the management of the important heathland landscape on 24 July.

The Royal Marines are holding a ‘Meet the Marines’ day on 26 July, which will include military fitness challenges, laser tag, and a chance to try ration pack food.

heath week29 July is the very first Pebblebed Dog Day which will celebrate how important the heaths are for our four-legged friends and their owners. This event will also see the launch of Devon Loves Dogs – join us to find out more!
