Hill View Farm is a working farm situated on the outskirts of Bicester, on the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border.
At Hill View we enjoy fabulous views across the Aylesbury Vale and provide high quality bed and breakfast accommodation for the Bicester area together with glamping in our shepherd’s hut. Whilst situated in a tranquil location there is nearby access to Junction 9 of the M40 which together with the main line railway brings London within a 45 minute journey by train or 1 hour by car. Cycle route 51 is very close by and a totem pole style marker is positioned on the roadside at the boundary of our farm so we are also perfectly situated for a few nights stay if cycling this route.
The purpose built extension to the farmhouse provides contemporary boutique B&B accommodation whilst our shepherd’s hut offers a glamping experience for those who want to get away from it all.
Our bespoke built shepherd’s hut is ideal for a romantic break or an escape to the country, fitted with all sorts of creature comforts.
Hill View Farm is, as the name would suggest, situated on a hill and enjoys spectacular views. Although not particularly high, the surrounding area is nearly all lower hence the panoramic views across the Aylesbury Vale. It is thought that Poundon Hill is where the Anglian glacier came to a halt around 400 thousand years ago and the views from our shepherd’s hut would have been across a huge lake. However, our hut has not been left in the past and has many modern conveniences such as solar power, king-size bed, eco loo and an outside shower. A welcome hamper awaits our guests ensuring that they can settle in without having to make a dash to the shops straight away. Eggs and bacon are supplied for either a simple supper or breakfast, together with essentials such as bread, butter, milk, tea and coffee. The 2-ring hob or BBQ allow guests to rustle up a quick meal. There is wood\kindling provided so guests are able to light the little wood burner to ensure they are warm and cosy should the weather be cold. In the summer guests can dine alfresco and look out across the countryside and in an evening watch the sun go down and experience the wonderful sunsets.
All sorts of wildlife can be seen from the hut, including red kites, buzzards, hare, muntjac, roe and fallow deer.
The Chiltern and Cotswold Hills are within easy reach by car and there are a number of places of interest to visit within the area. The National Trust Properties of Stowe Landscape Gardens, Waddesdon Manor, Claydon House together with Blenheim Palace, Silverstone, Bicester Village and Oxford ensure that there is something of interest for everyone.
