What: The Royal Garden Hotel is offering a special afternoon tea which takes inspiration from this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show at its Park Terrace restaurant. Available from 15th – 28th May for £49 per person, the seasonal tea will include a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches and floral inspired deserts including orange blossom palmiers, elderflower posset and honey cake served with bee pollen created by Executive Head Chef Steve Munkleyand his talented team.
This year, the Royal Garden Hotel has partnered with Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin, a craft gin distillery in Bedale, Yorkshire to serve up two unique cocktail pairings. The Chelsea Tree and the Pink Ambrosia have been fashioned using Masons’ Yorkshire Tea and Lavender editions, to produce a bouquet of fragrant tasting notes:
The Chelsea Tree – Masons Yorkshire Tea Edition is mixed with elderflower cordial, lime juice, celery and sliced green apple. The Yorkshire Tea blend gives the Chelsea Tree a savoury twist to complement the selection of sandwiches.
Pink Ambrosia – Appealing to those with a sweet tooth, Masons’ Lavender Gin is blended with fresh rhubarb, lime juice, simple syrup, Indian Fever Tree and berry- infused Bombay Sapphire gin.
Felicity De Caro, F&B manager at The Royal Garden Hotel, comments: “With gin being the nation’s favorite drink we thought our botanical themed afternoon tea would be the perfect opportunity to pair with a gin distillery that offers a unique product of floral gins.”
Onofrio La Monica, head bartender at Park Terrace, comments: “We wanted to create something which we felt truly embodied the spirit of the RHS Chelsea Flower show and enhanced the floral tasting notes of our menu. The seasonal cocktail ingredients have been carefully selected to offer a fragrant and refreshing complement to the afternoon tea.”
While dining in Park Terrace guests will enjoy gorgeous views of Kensington Palace Gardens.
