Village Farm Getaway is situated on a family farm in the sleepy village of Hungarton, Leicester. We provide luxury glamping accommodation in easy reach of the M69 and M1.
Village Farm is a fourth generation family run dairy farm, positioned in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside yet close to tourist attractions. For many years we have been aware that families and adults alike, who visit the farm, have appreciated the farming environment entwined with the peace and quiet of the countryside. In June 2017, our dream of harnessing luxury accommodation, farm life and local facilities became reality. Two spacious safari tents with all the home comforts, whilst not distracting from the benefits of living under canvas, became Village Farm Getaway. We believe our luxury safari tents create the perfect solution to develop the potential for people to benefit from all the farm has to offer whist staying in good quality accommodation.
The safari tents have stunning views across the Leicestershire countryside and provide an ideal location for families, friends and couples to unwind and spend quality time together. Every detail has been considered to give a truly relaxing stay. Each tent has two “ bedrooms” sleeping a maximum of five guests in a double bed, bunk bed and trundle underneath. All the beds have sprung mattresses, all season duvets, plump pillows and crisp bed linen on the beds ready for our guests arrival. An electric blanket on the double bed is provided for a perfect nights sleep. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob, fridge, sink and small oven above the log burner. The private shower room has a small heater for those chilly days! Electricity enables sufficient lighting for reading and cosy evenings curled up on the sofa. Each tent has a private hot tub to enjoy the night skies away from the bustle of every day life! For those who enjoy cooking outside, there is a fire pit which is also a great place to chill and chat around and toast marshmallows!
Guests love the freedom the farm offers whist enjoying the fresh air and open spaces. A farmer will be on hand to give a farm tour with the opportunity to see the milking parlour and sometimes even feed the calves! Each morning guests can wander up to the hen house to gather fresh eggs for breakfast and let the chickens out to roam around the farmyard. Children enjoy playing in the straw bales. Excellent views from the tents, footpaths aplenty and all the farm has to offer enables days to be easily filled. However, there is plenty for those who wish to explore from fishing lakes to self pick farm, King Richard 3 to National Space Centre, double decker bus cafe to fine dining all within easy reach.
