The world’s largest gathering of Shire horses returns to Staffordshire from 16th to 18th March – and people from throughout the UK are being invited to join organiser the Shire Horse Society as the charity celebrates its 140th anniversary.

Around 250 pedigree Shires from across Europe are expected to attend the three-day indoor event at Bingley Hall, Staffordshire Showground.

Arundel Castle in West Sussex has announced a bumper calendar of events in time for its reopening on 30 March 2018.

The Castle, which is celebrating the 950th anniversary of its initial construction in 2018, will have a packed schedule of 13 historical events from the seasoned professionals at the Raven Tor Living History Group.

Opening the season is firm family favourite Normans and Crusaders, which takes place over the Easter Weekend, 31 March-02 April 2018. The event will be set within a tented encampment on the American lawns, giving visitors a glimpse into life in the 12th century.  With combat and falconry displays across the weekend, and have-a-go archery for the over 8s, it’s sure to be a thrilling weekend for all ages.

The Scotch Whisky Experience adds sign languages to its tours

Five-star visitor attraction The Scotch Whisky Experience has become the first in Edinburgh to offer whisky tours in British and American Sign Language.

In a pivotal move to enhance accessibility, the Royal Mile attraction has invested over £50,000 into multi-functional audio guides which feature interpreters conducting tours in both BSL and ASL.

As 80% of visitors to The Scotch Whisky Experience come from overseas, subtitled tours in German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Swedish will also be launching, allowing deaf visitors from these countries to enjoy the tour in their own language.

The addition of the new BSL and ASL devices means the attraction now offers whisky tours in a total of 20 languages.
