1993 was the year that 50,000 visitors flocked to Clarks Village on 14th August for the opening of the first UK outlet shopping centre and the thrill of high street and designer brands offering up to 60% off RRP all in one location. Original brands included Clarks, Benetton and Pierre Cardin.
Today, it is home to more than 90 designer, homeware and high street brands including Jack Wills, Superdry, Original Penguin, Ben Sherman, Joules, Wonderbra, Hobbs, Molton Brown, Yankee Candle, Radley, Osprey London, Hotel Chocolat and Lindt. The largest Clarks Factory Outlet store in Europe is still at the Village too!
This month, Clarks Village is celebrating its big milestone with a party weekend on 11-12 August 2018, to celebrate in true, 1990s style! As well as lots of extra amazing offers over the summer, there will be a series of immersive and theatrical experiences at Clarks Village.
The Celebration Sisters will make you smile as they host music and merriment, on the spot games and activities from their beautiful pop up floral bandstand. Guests can put their feet up and enjoy the stunning swing chair draped with beautiful blooms. Throw some shapes on the dancefloor with our silent disco made up of guests’ awesome music suggestions. If you love to share your talent or just have a go then share your tunes on our floral dressed piano.
Children will love Wildestra, the magical and marvellous character who will be story telling in her festive Tipi. She’ll also host craft activities like making flower head dresses, bug hotels or lavender bags. There will also be a trail with a little something for all the children who complete it.
No party weekend would be complete without a cake! And on Saturday 11th August, there will be a huge, 5-tier celebration cake delivered to the Village for the guests to enjoy.
Designed with some of the popular designer brands available in the village, its exciting children’s adventure playground (King Arthur’s Forest) and the beautiful landscape of Street itself.
The cake features five delicious flavours – each tier a different flavour (including a gluten free option) – will be unveiled around 2pm, when guests will get to try some of local baker, Love my Cake’s masterpiece.
Offering an unrivalled and unique shopping experience, Clarks Village has evolved over the years, and with exciting plans for the future, the Village continues to progress in an increasingly premium and fashion forward direction.
With a focus on value, the outlet stocks an exciting treasure trove of the latest fashion, home furnishings and gifts with up to 60% savings on RRP.
And there’s more than shopping, you can also dine out in a variety of delicious eateries including Frankie and Benny’s, Prezzo, Pizza Express and the famous, GBK. Or head for a lighter snack and coffee, at Pret a Manger, Costa or Café Nero.
Over the years, Clarks Village has become not only the leading shopping centre of choice for many in the South West, but a destination for many visitors to Somerset from across the UK and further afield.
