Lee Valley White Water Centre’s Christmas attraction is back for 2018.
For the third year running the London 2012 Olympic legacy venue will host an array of seasonal activities and entertainment for families and friends to enjoy throughout the festive period.
The Christmas destination will run for just over five weeks from Saturday 1 December – Sunday 6 January 2019 and will feature an ice rink, curling sheets, a Santa’s Grotto and fun fair.
Visitors can get into the Christmas spirit with a skate on the venue’s real ice rink.
Available from Friday to Sunday, ticket prices for ice skating start from £5pp and include a 45 minute session on the ice, skate hire and the use of a skate aid if required - perfect for experienced skaters and novices alike.
New for 2018, the venues ice rink will also feature four real ice curling sheets, for visitors to experience a taster of the winter Olympic sport. Each curling lane can host a team of up to eight people and will be available to hire on Monday to Thursday between 10:00 – 20:00 (the curling sheets will not be available from the week commencing 24 December). Ticket prices start from £10pp based on eight people hiring a lane for a one hour session.
After fun on the ice visitors can head up to the Terrace Bar & Café to relax with some festive drinks and snacks including traditional German sausages, warm mulled wine and delicious churros.
For those wanting to pick up some last minute stocking fillers, a Christmas market will be open on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December. With quirky gifts to dazzling decorations, the free entry market offers an opportunity to discover a host of presents for Christmas.
No festive day out would be complete without a visit to Santa’s Grotto. Here, children can enjoy an enchanting experience meeting with the big man himself. Those on the nice list will receive a free gift from Santa’s grotto. Father Christmas is available to visit on weekends between 10:30 – 18:00 and on Christmas Eve.
Those looking for some more adventure can head over to the fun fair where they can enjoy a range of traditional fairground rides and activities.
